Facebook engineer Bob Baldwin, one of the developers behind the release, said he was inspired to create the photo comments feature because, "sometimes showing a photo helps me tell a story much better than words alone."

The social network said Wednesday that it's started the world unleash of the new feature, that lets people add photos to comment threads employing a new Attach a photo button. picture comments are a product of one of Facebook's renowned hackathons, To start, uploads of photo comments are going to be restricted to the Facebook web site and mobile site, however merely viewing photo comments are possible from Facebook's mobile applications, the company said.

The new addition may transform the social network into a a lot of meme and teen-friendly zone, as photos flip commenting into a a lot of devilish activity. Of course, there is also the potential for spam, abuse, and simply plain ugly comment threads. however imaginer Baldwin wishes for the simplest. "I hope this will make threads with friends more expressive and engaging," he said.
